Heather's Quilt

Heather is the niece of one of my local customer's and she shipped her quilt top & backing to me earlier this summer. I finally got around to quilting it for her and have shipped it back to her.
Heather says the pattern name is "High Rise".

She plans to give it to her brother and I'm sure he'll love it! It is a very striking-looking quilt!
I quilted it with a paper pantograph pattern by Irene Steele called "Soap Flakes"
I liked the combination of curves and points and the fact that the pattern interlocks closely. The batting is Dream Wool by Quilters Dream Batting. I choose "Camel" Signature Cotton Thread which looks great on both the top and the back.
The color is a little off in this shot but the colors above in the top are accurate.
I am going to have "total knee replacement surgery" soon (right first, then my left after the first of the year so it will be awhile before I'm ready to quilt).

Happy quilting!

Kathie's Quilt

Kathie's quilt showcases quite a collection of Batik Fabrics.
I quilted this with what I call my freehand doodling.
The batting is Quilters Dream Wool which really worked very nicely. It is so lightweight, yet slightly lofty. Kathie and I discussed how much we appreciate this batting especially in a large bed quilt but it also makes a comfy lap quilt. Kathie did a beautiful job!

Keep on piecing!

Janet's Quilt

Janet's quilt.
Isn't this a beautiful quilt?!!?!!! All of the quilting was custom, hand-guided, without the use of patterns. I love doing free-form feathers so this was a joy to quilt.

The batting is Quilters Dream Wool which is fabulous!
I quilted this one after my Colorado visit. And I also quilted another customer's quilt which I'll blog about later today. Thanks for checking in with me!

Christy's Quilt

I finished quilting Christy's quilt so here I am posting again.
It was a little too sunny in my room so the top of the quilt doesn't accurately show the colors.
It is a beautiful quilt made with batik fabrics. I quilted it with Signature cotton thread, "Rust", and I used the pantograph pattern Interlocking Living Hearts by Living Designs.

This close-up shows the fabrics and pattern well.

I appreciate you checking in on me (on my streaky blog!). I do have a baby quilt to blog about, too, but will wait until later today.

Shirley's Raffle Quilt

As promised, here is the event information on Shirley's other quilt. This quilt was made by Shirley for the Charlotte Pinochle Bugs Quilt Raffle. The drawing date is: May 30, 2015, and will be held at THE KAPPA HOUSE, 5409 Beatties Ford Road, Charlotte, NC 28216. A donation of $5.00 will enter your name in the raffle (and you need not be present to win).

For more information please contact Shirley Green, 704-971-0375, or email: shirtsewlady@aol.com

This is the front of the quilt. Don't you just love it?!

This is the back of the quilt (it is reversible just as her other for auction quilt is.)

Here is a closeup of the quilt top. The pantograph pattern I used to quilt this with is called "Pinwheel" and is by N. Woods. I used Signature cotton variegated thread "Green House".
The yellows, blacks, and whites all work beautifully in this quilt.

I'm sure Shirley's work will be appreciated by all who see these two quilts!

I am currently working on another customer's quilt so check back soon for photos of it!

Last Quilt of 2014

This is my customer Shirley's quilt. I quilted freehand feathers in each block as well as in the sashing and border. Shirley fussy-cut a butterfly for the center of each block. Her backing fabric is "covered" with butterflies.

One of the blocks.

A close-up of the back.
I hope you've enjoyed seeing Shirley's lovely quilt!

Wishing you a Happy New Year full of lots of quiltmaking fun!
